NEW CLASS: Motifs and Mosaics available in 2011
Lectures and Classes
Sherry is available for lectures and classes for your quilt guild. The lecture, Mosaics and the Quilts They Inspire, will take you on a journey from the early American Indian basket patterns in mosaics, through the rule of the Moors in Andalusia and the mosaics of the Alhambra palace, and on to Italy with the marble mosaics of Pisa and Venice. The similarities of these mosaics to popular quilting patterns is displayed through quilt replicas of these early mosaics and antique and modern-day adaptations. We continue on to the first century mosaics of Ephesus, Turkey. You won't want to miss her reproduction of the wall paintings of Thera dating back to 1650BC. The lecture is 45 minutes to one hour.
The Mosaics of Tunisia, Albania will be added in 2011.

This class includes instruction using C&T's new washaway fusible applique sheets, woven tumbling block patter, monofilament thread machine applique, stencil machine quilting, and use of decorative machine stitches.

Laser Cut Fusible Designs by StenSource
This class uses a fusible laser cut pattern as it's base. You will leave with a beautiful Christmas decoration or present. Instruction includes free motion quilting, layering using Bo-Nash fusing techniques, binding and mitering binding corners.
Cost $30.00 plus $15.00 for the pattern
Sherry has been in the sewing and quilting business for over 30 years. She has been teaching classes and lecturing for the past 3 years and is continually adding research and quilts to her presentation. Her historical quilts have won first place in California Daughters of the American Revolution competition three times. She competes locally , winning Best of Show twice and First place at the River City Quilt Show in 2008.
